About
Hugo Herrera — a solution architect who stays for delivery.
I am a Microsoft AI and Dynamics 365 solutions architect. For fifteen years I have designed enterprise solutions and then stayed close to the teams building them — because a design is only worth the production system it becomes.
I work through OnDynamics ApS, based in Denmark, with engagements worldwide. I am also the author of the Microsoft Power Platform Solutions Architect’s Handbook.

The work
Fifteen years in the field, not above it
My work has centred on Microsoft business applications and, more recently, agentic AI — first as a consultant and architect inside delivery teams, then leading architecture on programmes for Microsoft itself and for Fortune 500 enterprises across regulated industries: insurance, banking, energy and utilities, aviation, and the public sector.
Two threads run through it. The first is Dynamics 365 Contact Center — I have architected and delivered contact centres at national and worldwide scale, where the design has to survive real call volumes, real integrations and real operations teams. The second is agentic AI on the Microsoft stack: Azure AI Foundry, the Microsoft Agent Framework, Copilot Studio, and the orchestration that ties them to enterprise data.
In 2024, an Azure OpenAI and Dynamics 365 stakeholder-feedback system I delivered at SSEN Transmission was named a finalist for Best Use of AI at the UK Customer Experience Awards. I mention it not as a trophy but because it is a fair example of the work: a real system, in a regulated environment, judged on the outcome rather than the demo.
How I work
Three principles I hold to

Writing & community
I write and teach the work as well as do it
I am the author of the Microsoft Power Platform Solutions Architect’s Handbook — two editions with Packt, in 2022 and 2025 — used by consultancies and enterprise teams as a working reference and for PL-600 preparation.
I lecture, speak at conferences, and run PL-600 and AB-100 bootcamps for consultancy teams. Teaching the material keeps the thinking honest — it is hard to explain an architecture clearly if you do not really understand why it is the way it is.
Beyond client work
OnDynamics Labs
I run two research projects on my own time and infrastructure, so the patterns I bring to an enterprise programme have been stress-tested somewhere I can break things safely first.

Project EVE
A research project into self-evolving multi-agent systems on the Microsoft stack — the place I test orchestration and evaluation patterns before they reach a client.

Project Blue Sky
A research project exploring agentic AI for everyday life — a personal chief of staff that coordinates a team of specialist agents around a person’s goals and commitments.
Let’s talk about your programme
If any of this sounds like the kind of help you need, I would be glad to hear what you are working on.
